African economic policies were at the heart of discussions at the third training session for women and young people, held from January 2 to 6 in Richard Toll (Senegal). According to Yassine Fall, President of the NGO African women’s millenium initiative (Awomi), Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSPs) are just a new form of economic colonization, and development strategies should be rethought in collaboration with local populations, and by integrating the human and social dimensions. She also denounced the exploitation of the continent, and called for a more protectionist policy.
