In 2017, Inter-réseaux Développement rural began a thematic cycle on the involvement of the private sector in African agriculture. Exchanges and collective thinking led to this publication on The Growing Role of the Private Sector in Agricultural and Food Policy in Africa, produced with the Bureau Issala and SOS Faim Belgique.

What brought about that paradigm shift? How much influence does the “private sector” now have in guiding policies to combat food insecurity? What issues do these new alliances raise? Those are the main points addressed in this jointly written note.
