The State of food security and nutrition in the world report 2021 has been released. The report states that the past four editions revealed the failure of the global fight against hunger. The world has not been generally progressing either towards ensuring access to safe, nutritious and sufficient food for all people all year round (SDG Target 2.1), or to eradicating all forms of malnutrition (SDG Target 2.2). It considers that the world is at a critical juncture and the way forward should be the transformation of food systems.
