The African Leaders Nairobi Declaration on Climate Change and Call to Action

A global carbon tax and a reform of international financial institutions to finance climate action in Africa. This is what the “Nairobi Declaration” adopted on Wednesday, September 6, at the end of the first African climate summit, the Africa Climate Summit 2023, recommends. As a solution for the future, African heads of state have makes the option of intensifying investments in renewable energies. This text should allow the continent to speak with one voice during the next climate discussions in a few weeks in Dubai (COP 28 on climate).
