Cet article décrit la façon dont la Banque Mondiale semble privilégier, pour ses aides post-covid, les pays adoptant des politiques favorables au secteur privé. Les auteurs s’appuient sur l’exemple du Kenya où cette approche a eu des impacts importants sur l’économie rurale. Il apparaît que ce sont les entreprises internationales des engrais et pesticides (Yara, Syngenta, etc.) qui en sortent gagnantes.

This article describes how the World Bank seems to favour, for its post-covid aid, countries adopting policies benefitting to the private sector. The authors focuses on Kenya, where this approach has had significant impacts on the rural economy. It appears that it is the international fertilizer and pesticide companies (Yara, Syngenta, etc.) that are the main winners.
