Objectives and Tasks

  • The Inter-Réseaux Association

Inter-Réseaux’s goal is to help create the conditions needed for agricultural and rural development stakeholders to act within their surroundings in favour of rural populations and sustainable agriculture based on family farming.

To attain this goal, Inter-Réseaux acts and provides its skills through three complementary missions:

  • Network European and African stakeholders involved in change: develop connections between different categories of rural development stakeholders in Africa and strengthen Euro-African dialogue; connect people, dynamics and ideas; showcase acquired experience; and offer stakeholders the ability to entering a public discussion forum and opportunities to communicate for change.
  • Stimulate dialogue: promote experience analysis and documentation, and help rural development stakeholders progress and pool this knowledge so that it becomes collective.
  • Inform: systematically monitor rural development to disseminate useful, high-quality and up-to-date information widely, and keep a forward-looking watch over future challenges.

Inter-Réseaux’s field of activity encompasses agricultural and rural development overall. Our 2012-2016 Strategic Blueprint placed a priority on five major topics of work:

  • agricultural policy,
  • market access and agricultural value chains,
  • agricultural advice and services,
  • agricultural and rural finance, and
  • the future of agricultural and pastoral family farms.
